The maintenance tool has undergone an improvement with the addition of a feature enabling the assignment of new report IDs (GUIDs). It is imperative for report IDs to be unique, and the DataFlex Reports Studio already seamlessly handled this by automatically generating new IDs in two scenarios: firstly, when an existing report is saved under a new name, and secondly, when opening two report definition files with identical report IDs.

However, it's worth noting that when report definition files are copied using Windows Explorer and subsequently renamed, they retain the original report ID. To address this, the enhanced maintenance tool introduces a novel capability that proves particularly beneficial for developers undertaking batch operations. This feature empowers developers by facilitating the reassignment of new report IDs, streamlining the process and ensuring the uniqueness of report identifiers.
