DataFlex Managed Connections¶

The DataFlex SQL Drivers support the use of Connection IDs to make it easier to store database server strings in a central location. The DataFlex Studio and other DataFlex tools generate, maintain, and use Connection IDs. This is referred to as Managed Connections.

DataFlex Reports can use these Managed Connections as data sources. The DataFlex Reports Studio can build reports and operates independently of the DataFlex version that uses the Managed Connection.

Using DataFlex Managed Connections in DataFlex Reports¶

Managed Connections use a different password per DataFlex version. When connection information in Managed Connections is changed in DataFlex, report developers may need to update reports using those Managed Connections.
