Change Datasource to Runtime Data Source (RDS)

After selecting "RDS" in the "New Datasource" page, the wizard allows creating a new RDS table layout as a Datasource.

With an RDS data-source, it is possible to:

  1. Create a new RDS table with only the columns in use
  2. Or create a new RDS table with columns matching the current embedded or ODBC data-source table.

While option 2—click the button labeled "Automatic"—is the easiest option, it does not create what RDS was intended for. With RDS, one or more virtual tables are defined with the columns (entities) needed for the report.
