Server Login

This dialog, opened from the database pulldown, offers server login facilities to the user. The dialog is only needed if the filelist entry (slot) does not provide enough information to the system to open a non-embedded table. In many cases, especially during development, the table.int file contains the login information.

Database Explorer uses the LOGIN command for its logins. The LOGIN command requires the following four values:

Driver

This combo form shows the loaded drivers. If the desired driver is missing, you can load it by clicking the Load Driver button. DataFlex can be configured to automatically load database drivers via the driver configuration panel, accessible through Database Builder.

Server

In this combo form, you need to enter the name of the server you want to log in to. If the login is successful, the server name will appear in this dropdown for subsequent logins, logout, or just to acknowledge that the server is connected.

Username

The username is the database username used for the login.

Password

In this form, you need to enter the correct password for the login attempt. The password will be masked with the usual password stars.
