File Menu
Select Workspace
This option opens the Select Workspace dialog, the same dialog used in Database Builder and the Studio. The function is a bit different; when you select a different workspace, the current user workspace will not be changed as in the other two tools. Selecting a different workspace is also available via the "Open Workspace" button in the miscellaneous band of the toolbar.
When you open the Select Workspace dialog, the opened tables will be closed.
Open
This option opens the table that is currently selected in the list of tables. The option is available because the currently selected table can be closed, and opening would require a move through the list of tables. The option is also available via the right mouse floating menu and a button in the database band part of the toolbar.
Open Unlisted Table
This choice will open a dialog in which you can specify a table to be opened that is not present in the current list of tables, also called unlisted tables.
The physical name in the Attributes tab page always shows the full directory path. If the path is too long, the directory part of the name is displayed via the ‘....\’ display method.
On the Columns tab page, the table and column numbers of related-to tables (parent tables) are shown, rather than the names. Database Explorer does not have access to that information; the current file list might have the right information, but likewise, it might not contain the names.

Close
This option closes the currently selected table in the list of tables when it is opened at this time. When the table information is expanded in the list of tables (child tree branches are present), these will be collapsed and closed.
Close Tables
This option closes all open tables and removes the data grid – or the single record view – on the Data tab page. All other tab pages become unavailable. You can use this option when you want to modify the table structure using Database Builder, which requires an exclusive open.
Closing all opened tables can also be done by clicking on the root item of the list of tables tree.
The option will not, like the File, Close, collapse the list of tables tree entry.
Erase All Data
You can delete all the data in a table at once by choosing this menu option. Only the current main table displayed on the Data tab page will be erased (not the related-to or related-from tables).
This option will become available when the Zerofile Allowed option is checked in the File, Configure, Flags, Table panel, and the table is opened in the data grid or single record view mode. The option will not work if another user or program has the table open at the same time because the table needs to be opened exclusively. Drivers and permissions can limit the function of the option.
Other users – or other applications on the same workstation – will not be able to open the table while this function is in process.
Print Table Definition
This option, available when the current tree entry is pointing to a table, lets you select a printer. When one is chosen, the output in the format of a DEF file will be printed to that printer.
Reset to System Table
When the currently opened table is a system table (a one-record table), Database Explorer does not let you navigate out of the first record. If there are multiple records, you can delete the 2nd and further records by choosing this menu option. The option is only available when the table has been marked as a system table and more than one record is present.
Configure
This option opens the Database Explorer Configure panel. The panel is modal and is divided into six main tab pages. The first tab page, labeled "Flags," is divided into five tab pages. The option is only available when the dbAdminMode is set to Database Mode or Full Mode.
Exclude Tables
This menu option will open a dialog in which you can select one or more tables to exclude from the list of tables for this workspace. The choices are not per user (like the configuration settings) but for all users using the current workspace.
Export Data
This choice is available only when the Data tab page is populated with data (at other times, it is shadowed). This function starts the external Database Export Wizard with the current workspace, current table, and selected columns as parameters.
Recent Workspaces
This option opens a submenu in which the recent workspaces are listed. By default, Database Explorer does not store the recent workspaces. Via the File, Configure, MRU settings, you can tell Database Explorer to store the workspaces and how many. If no previous workspace information was stored or when not configured as such, the value “None” will be shown.
Recent Tables
This option opens a submenu in which the recently opened tables are listed. By default, Database Explorer does not store the recently opened tables. Via the File, Configure, MRU settings, you can tell Database Explorer to store the tables and how many. If no previous opened tables are stored or when not configured as such, the value “None” will be shown.
Exit
This option or the assigned hotkey (ALT+F4) will close the current session of Database Explorer.
