Search Column

This dialog, opened after pressing Ctrl+F in the list of tables tree view or via an option on several right mouse floating menus, allows you to find a column by its name. Suppose you know the column is named "balance" but you do not know in which table it resides; this find dialog is a useful feature.

Search Options

You can limit the search to:

  • The list of columns
  • Both the list of columns and the indexes

The latter option is handy when you want to use a particular index for displaying the data but do not know which index uses this column.

Search Directions

The search operation can be performed in either direction:

  • Forward
  • Backward

You can start the search from:

  • The top
  • The bottom
  • The current position in the list of tables

Results

The found column is displayed by changing the current tree item to the found item.

A repeat of the search can be done using F3. If the repeat is not successful, the current tree item remains the same.
