File Navigator

Use the File Navigator to view an alphabetically sorted list of each file that is open in the current workspace.

The file that you are currently editing will be displayed in a bold font. Any file that has changes pending a save will be indicated using a special icon.

You can use the File Navigator to bring to front any file in the list. Double-clicking on a file will activate the last used view for that file. For example, if the last work you performed on that file was in the Visual Designer, then the Visual Designer will be activated for that file again.

You can specify which view of the file you wish to activate by selecting Code View or Designer View from the context menu. You can also request the Code View and Designer View to be windowed next to each other in a cascading MDI child window style.

Closing

The File Navigator presents a very efficient way to close multiple files. Simply navigate the list with the arrow keys and press the Del key for each file you would like to close.

Context Menu Operations

The File Navigator supports the following context menu options:

View

Brings the selected file to the front to make it the active view. Repeatedly selecting View for the same file toggles between Code Editor and Designer view for that file.

Cascade

Activates the Code View and Designer View for the selected file and arranges them using the cascading MDI child window style.

Save

Saves the selected file.

Close

Closes the selected file.
