Replace in Files

The Replace In Files panel appears after you have clicked "Find First" from the Find and Replace In Files dialog. This panel provides buttons to control each replacement during the Replace In Files operation.

This panel is used in conjunction with the Find Results panel. The Find Results panel displays each file where a replacement will occur. The file you are currently working on is the currently highlighted file in this list.

You may close this panel at any time to abort the Replace In Files operation.

Find Next

Click this button to move to the next occurrence of the search string without performing a replacement on the currently highlighted occurrence.

If the next occurrence is in another file, that file is opened, and the currently highlighted file in the Find Results window is changed accordingly.

Replace

Click this button to perform a replacement on the currently highlighted occurrence of the search string and move to the next occurrence.

If the next occurrence is in another file, that file is opened, and the currently highlighted file in the Find Results window is changed accordingly.

Skip File

Click this button to ignore all remaining occurrences of the search string in the current file and go to the next file.

Replace All (current file)

Click this button to replace all remaining occurrences of the search string in the current file and go to the next file.

Replace All (all files)

Click this button to replace all remaining occurrences of the search string in the current file and all remaining files in the list (i.e., files not yet visited).
