Message Trace Options

When using the Message Trace, sometimes a message trace can be overwhelming with too much information. You might want to filter out certain messages. This dialog allows you to specify which messages to filter out.

To add a filter, click the Add Filter button and type in the message name. Alternatively, you can select a specific message in the Message Trace window, right-click, and select Filter.

Message Name

The name of the message that should be filtered. This should be the decorated message name, i.e., with the msg_, get_, or set_ prefix.

Load Default Filters

Removes all existing filters and loads the default filters. A few specific messages are filtered by default, which typically occur very often and are usually of little interest. Click this button to load the default set of filters.

Clear All

Removes all filters.

Add Filter

Adds a new filter to the end of the list, allowing you to edit the message name.

Delete Filter

Deletes the currently selected filter from the list.

OK

Click OK to save the changes to the message trace options and close the dialog.

Cancel

Click Cancel to close the dialog and discard changes to the message trace options.
