Menus
The menu system contains the following options, each connected to a popup menu.
File Menu
Select Workspace
Selecting a workspace is done via the Windows common file dialog. You can either select a Studio WorkSpace (SWS) file or a runtime WorkSpace (WS) file. The Studio WorkSpace files can be located in the root of an application directory structure, while the “normal” workspace files are found in the programs folder. In both cases, the same pathing information is retrieved to open tables for inspection or editing.
When you select a different workspace, the current user workspace will not be changed. Selecting a different workspace is also available via the "Open Workspace" button in the miscellaneous band of the toolbar.
Batch Create Error Numbers
This option allows you to start numbering at a different location. It will fill the gap between the last used error number and the first number you want to start with.
- Enter the amount of error numbers to be generated.
- Press
[Alt+O]or click the Ok button. - A progress bar will appear in the status bar showing the progress of record creation.
You need to enter an amount greater than zero and less than an amount that would create more than 4096 errors in the FlexErrs data file; otherwise, an error will appear.
Exit
This option, or the assigned hotkey (ALT+F4), will close the current session of the Error Code Maintenance tool.
Record Menu
This menu shows which database/row-oriented actions are available when you have a table opened and the focus is in the data grid.
Some options, such as Delete and Save, become available based on the current status. When the table is opened in read-only mode, you will not be able to select the Delete option. When there is nothing to save or when the table is read-only, you cannot use the Save option.
Clear/Add
This function clears the current row buffer. In grid view mode, an undo will be performed on the changes made to the current row. In single record view mode, the forms will be cleared.
Next Record
This function will find the next record in the table.
Previous Record
This function will find the previous row in the table.
Find First
This function will find the first row in the table.
Find Last
This function will find the last record in the table.
Save
This function is active when you have changed the current active record or when you are creating a new record. When active and selected, the system is instructed to save the record.
Delete
This function attempts to delete the currently active record.
Help Menu
Help
The menu option opens the help file that you are currently reading and context-sensitively jumps into the right section.
About
The About panel contains information about the Error Code Maintenance Tool and the environment you are running in. The dialog is consistent with what other DataFlex applications offer.
