Configure Editor – Keyboard
Use this tab page to customize the editor's hotkey assignments.
Command
This list box contains each possible editor command that can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut. To assign or change a hotkey to one of these commands, you must first select the command in this list.
Description
This text box displays a description of the selected command.
Key Assignments
This lists the set of hotkey combinations currently assigned to the selected command. Each command may have 0, 1, or more hotkey combinations assigned to it.
- To remove one of the hotkey assignments, select it in the list and click the Remove button.
- To reset the selected command's hotkeys to the default, click the Reset button.
New Key Assignment
Enter this field and press the key combination you would like to assign to the selected command. For example, pressing "Alt+Q" would add this hotkey combination to the currently selected command.
The text box below this displays information about the current use of the new key assignment, i.e., is it currently assigned to some other editor command?
To complete the hotkey assignment, you must click the Assign button. Do not forget to close the dialog using the OK button, not the Cancel button.
Special Note
You may not assign a hotkey combination that is already used by some Studio operation outside the editor.
