Deprecated Commands

As the DataFlex language evolves, many legacy commands (especially those with their roots in procedural DataFlex) are rendered obsolete. While these commands still compile for compatibility considerations, they are not supported in the same fashion as newer commands and may be removed from the system in future revisions.

How do I know if a command is obsolete?

The Language Reference has a complete section on Obsolete Commands. The online help for all obsolete commands is formatted so that you will clearly see that the command is obsolete, and you are provided with a link to the documentation on the replacement command.
