Remarks
The Category uses values from the ChartNumberFormatCategory enumeration to tell the chart how to handle the formatting of the value. The category must be specified so the correct formatting is applied to the value. The number value can be handled as General (i.e., no special formatting, just like a string), Number, Currency, Percentage, or Scientific.
Each value from ChartNumberFormatCategory will treat the data value differently:
- General: Only uses decimal places.
- Number: Uses decimal places and thousands separators.
- Currency: Displays a currency symbol and uses thousands separators and decimal places.
- Percentage: Displays a percent symbol and decimal places.
- Scientific: Displays data in scientific notation.
You can also use Currency Symbol, Decimal Places, and Use Thousands Separator to include or remove those features for the different categories.
