AddDataProvider Method

Description

Attempts to add a new data provider to the DataProviders Collection using the specified connection string.

Syntax

    ByVal [eDPFlags](#) As Long _
) As Boolean

Parameters

ConnectionString: A text Calendar connection string.
eDPFlags: A flag from the CalendarResourcesManagerDataProviderFlags enumeration that specifies how to control data provider creation/opening and destruction/closing.

Return Type

Returns True if the data provider was successfully added, False if there was an error adding the data provider.

Remarks

Does the same thing as the SetDataProvider method except it always tries to add the data provider to the end of the DataProviders Collection.

Multiple data providers can be added to the calendar so that events can be saved and loaded from multiple resources (i.e., from a memory data provider and a database data provider) at the same time. For example, when displaying schedules for multiple people, the events for the first person can be provided from memory and the events for the second can be provided from a database, etc.
