The Report Viewer Toolbar
The following is a description of each item (left to right) on the viewer’s toolbar.
Go to First Page
Click this button to display page 1 of your report.
Go to Previous Page
Click this button to go back one page, e.g., from page 2 to page 1.
Go to Next Page
Click this button to go forward one page, e.g., from page 2 to page 3.
Go to Last Page
Click this button to go to the final page of your report. Note that if your application is still generating the report, then the last page is only the last page that has been generated so far. This value will increase as the application continues to generate pages.
Cancel Reading Records
If you do not want to wait until the entire report has been generated, click the cancel button. This instructs the application to stop generating more report pages. You can still continue to preview all of the pages generated so far.
Click this button to send the report you are previewing to the printer. See Printing from the Report Viewer for more information.
Zoom
Use the zoom combo to change the report’s magnification. You can select one of the magnification percentages or “full page”.
- When you select a percentage size, the report is sized relative to the estimated size of a printed page. If the page does not fit in the viewer window, it is clipped. You can use the scrollbars to bring different parts of a clipped page into view.
- When you select “full page,” the report is resized to the maximum height and width available in the viewer’s window. Resizing the viewer’s window will then automatically resize the report pages.
Jump to Page
To jump to a specific page number of your report, enter the desired page number in this box, then click the “Jump to Page Number” button situated on the right of the entered page number.
Copy Image to Clipboard
Click this button to copy all or part of the current report page to the clipboard. When you click this button, the mouse cursor changes to a cross-hair shape. Position the mouse on the top left corner of the page section you want to copy, then click and drag the mouse to the bottom right corner.
The selected region will be copied to the clipboard as a bitmap image. This can be pasted into any document that supports this format.
