Subsystems

Each subsystem in DataFlex has a unique value that identifies its revision (not to be confused with a DataFlex revision). The subsystem revision number determines whether executables and compiled program files are compatible.

A subsystem is only checked when its first use is encountered in the source code being compiled or executed. Thus, even if a runtime was incompatible with the subsystem of the compiler, it used to compile a particular program file.
