New

Select this option to create a new project, component, or file. For more information, refer to Create New.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+N

Open

Select this option to open a project, component, or file. Selecting the Open File... option activates the open file dialog.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+O

Quick Open File

Select this option to activate the Quick Open toolbar. The Quick Open is used to quickly type and find a filename belonging to your project and open it in the Studio.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+O

Recent Files

The Studio maintains a list of the most recent files that you opened in the current workspace. To re-open one of these files, select Recent Files. A sub-menu will be shown listing the most recently opened files.

Click the name of any file on this menu to open it.

New Workspace...

Launches the New Workspace Wizard. Select this option when you want to create a new DataFlex application.

Open Workspace...

Select this option when you want to open an existing workspace. Workspaces are opened by selecting the Studio Workspace file (workspacename.sws) using the Open Workspace dialog or by double-clicking on the Studio Workspace file in Windows Explorer. You can also use the Recent Workspaces... option. The Studio Workspace file is usually located in the root folder of the workspace.

Workspaces from Prior DataFlex Revisions

If you open a workspace by selecting a Studio Workspace file (workspacename.sws), and the revision in that file is from a prior DataFlex revision, the Studio will automatically launch the Studio Workspace Migration Wizard. The Studio Workspace file is usually located in the Home folder of the workspace. You can migrate workspaces from DataFlex revision 12.0 and higher. See the Studio Workspace Migration Wizard page for information on migrating older workspaces.

Recent Workspaces

The Studio maintains a list of the most recent workspaces that you worked on. To select one of these workspaces, select Recent Workspaces. A sub-menu will be shown listing the most recently used workspaces.

Click the name of any workspace on this menu to open it.

Close

Select this option to close the current file. The name of the current file is shown as part of the menu option, has the focus of the Code Editor or Visual Designer, is shown in bold in the Window Navigator, and displayed to the left on the Status Bar.

Close All

Select this option to close all open files. This will also close the Workspace Dashboard and Start Center.

Save

Select this option to save changes to the file that currently has the focus.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+S

Save As...

Select this option to change the current file under a different name.

Note: The Studio only supports file and folder name characters using the standard ASCII character set (ASCII characters 32-127).

Save All

Select this option to save every open file that has pending changes.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+S

Select this option to set the various print options that can be applied when printing the contents of the code editor.

Print...

Select this option to print the contents of the code editor for the currently selected file or component.

If you have a section of text selected, then only the selected text will be printed. If no text is selected, then the entire contents of the editor control will be printed.

Exit

Select this option to close the Studio. You will be prompted to save any unsaved changes.
