Connection IDs in Database Explorer

Database Explorer supports two ways to configure and use connection IDs.

Database Explorer could handle encrypted connection information prior to the introduction of Managed Connections in DataFlex v19.0. It did not require the deployment of connection IDs in the .INT file. Instead, connection information was stored in ConnectionIds.ini. This method is considered obsolete but is still present to support connections in workspaces that have not been converted to DataFlex v19 and later, and that are not using the recommended managed connections.

Depending on the presence of dfconnid.ini, the dialog will display the connection configuration from either dfconnid.ini or ConnectionIds.ini.
