SetData Method

Description

Initialize the hex edit control with data specified by the 'Data' parameter.

Syntax

Public Sub SetData( _
    ByVal [Data] As Variant _
)

Parameters

• Data: Pointer to a buffer (i.e. String variable) that contains the initial data for the control.

Example

This sample shows how to add text to the hex edit control and how to specify how many characters can be typed into the control.

Dim Data(0 To 120) As Byte  

Data(0) = Asc("A")  
Data(100) = Asc("B")  

Dim DataStr As String  
DataStr = "This is some test data for HexEdit without any special meaning. " _  
    & "You can type 10 characters past the end."  

'HexEdit.SetData Data  
HexEdit.SetData DataStr  

HexEdit.MaxLength = Len(DataStr) + 10
