| xtpChartScaleQualitative | Argument or value point data will be handled as qualitative values which will be displayed as text along the axis. Qualitative data is extremely varied and can include virtually any information. Data should be treated as qualitative when displaying any type of arbitrary data. For example, people's names, cities, populations, etc. would typically be a qualitative data type. If numerical data needs to be processed in the order that it is added and not treated as numerical data, then a qualitative scale should be used (hours worked, population, etc). If DateTime data is used and needs to be processed in the order in which it is added, then a qualitative scale should be used; if the Dates should be processed in chronological order, then the DateTime scale should be used. |
| xtpChartScaleNumerical | Argument or value point data will be handled as numerical values which will be displayed as numbers along the axis. Numerical data will be evaluated as real numbers and any data added will be displayed/evaluated in numerical order, regardless of the order the data is entered. (Typically used in standard point charts). |
| xtpChartScaleDateTime | Argument or value point data will be handled as Date values which will be displayed as their text representation along the axis. DateTime data will be evaluated/displayed as dates, regardless of the order the data is entered. (Typically used in standard financial charts). |
| xtpChartScaleTime | (Additional description can be added here if necessary) |
Remarks
All charts can use the xtpChartScaleQualitative scale type. The scale type just changes how the data is processed and displayed in the chart. xtpChartScaleQualitative will display the data in the order in which it is added, regardless of the type of data. If your data is numerical and needs to be displayed in numerical order, then use the xtpChartScaleNumerical scale type. If your data is dates and you want those dates displayed in chronological order, then use the xtpChartScaleDateTime scale.
