GetCurrentTimeZone Method

Description

Retrieves the current time-zone parameters for the default Time Scale.

Syntax

Public Function GetCurrentTimeZone() As CalendarTimeZone

Return Type

Returns a CalendarTimeZone object that contains the current time-zone parameters for the default Time Scale.

Remarks

The CalendarDayView contains two time scales that appear on the left side of the view. One time scale is the main time scale that represents the current time zone and is visible by default. The second time scale is the alternative time scale that represents the alternative time zone and can be enabled programmatically with the DayViewScale2Visible property. The time scale time interval can be changed using the TimeScale property. The content of the view is refreshed automatically.

The default Time Scale is the TimeScale that appears on the far left of the screen. If the alternative Time Scale is visible, the default Time Scale will appear on the left of the alternative time scale.

The default Time Scale is always visible when the ViewType is set to Day view or Work Week View. The default Time Scale will always contain the time-zone parameters for the local time of the computer.

All translations between UTC time and local time are based on the following formula:

UTC = local time + bias

The bias is the difference, in minutes, between UTC time and local time.
